FireFox – Larger Font:

If you like to increase or decrease the font in FireFox you can do the following:

Option 1:

Press and hold the ctrl button and then the + button, every time you press the + button the font will increase.

Now to decrease you hold the ctrl button and then the - button, every time you press the - button the font will decrease.

Option 2:

Press and hold the ctrl button and then roll the mouse button to one derection to increase and to the other direction to increase.

Virus? - Check for these symptoms:

The following are symptoms of a virus being present, however it is important to note that not all of these have to be present it might be only one or two:

1. The speed is much slower than normal.

2. You can not go on the internet.

3. Email does not work.

4. Applications (programs) do not open.

5. Lots of popups appear when you are on the internet

If you think you have a virus it is important to shut down the PC ASAP and contact your IT preson. Do not attempt to work with the PC or even do a virus scan yourself as this might cause more damage to the PC.

Technical Terms - RAM:

RAM is the short term memory of your PC. You can compare it to your desk space or table, you would take a file/book out of the filing cabinet and place it on your desk to work with it. Once you are done you would place the file back in the filing cabinet.

Now if you have no space on your table you and you need to work with another book you need to make space on you table first by placing some of the books back in your filing cabinet before you can place the new file on your table, you can see that this proses of putting away books is slow. This is the same reason why PCs sometimes react slow as they need to make pace in the RAM before working with a new file.

What can you do to make things easier, well you could get a larger desk so you could have more books on it, the same with your PC you could increase the RAM.

MOT:

MOT for cars are there to notify you of any problems that might occur or that are already there that makes your car unsafe.

The same with PCs however unlike cars you need to have a MOT done on new PCs also not just on old PCs.

MOT frequency:

And just like cars it is more expensive to fix a PC after it broke down than to service / MOT the PC on a regular basis.
