Security Events:

It seems like the flurry of attacks and infections came down the past month with only 1 customer being infected and cleaned successfully, but please remember to:

• Update your virus protection and malware

• Update Windows and any other updates that is required

Slow PC/Laptops:

We all get frustrated sometimes with the SLOOOOWWWWW PC, and is it not funny how most customer services agents tell us when we are on the phone to them: "I am so sorry it seems the system is slow today".
Now the first question is WHY are the PC/Laptops getting slow, the answer has different angles and here are some of them:

1. The PC/Laptop need more short term memory or RAM, Short term memory is used to do a lot of the processing of applications running at any given point. IF the RAM is full then this will slow the PC/Laptop

2. Clean out some of the cob webs, as time goes by we tend to install and delete a lot of apps on our PC/Laptop and most of the time things get very muddled up. Usually a good cleaning tool could help in this regard.

3. Windows do get dirty. After all that auto updates day after day Windows seems to get dirty and loose speed.

4. Malware and Viruses can have a big impact as well.

5. New software just are toooooo big for older PC/Laptops.

  Recently many customers asked me if they should spend the money to get a new PC/Laptop, my answer is, if your PC is very old (10+ years) then probably yes. If the PC/Laptop is between 5 and 10 years then a good clean or even a RELOAD of windows will speed up your machine, recently 1 client's PC took +- 50 seconds to open MS Word, after a reload it took less than 5 seconds!!! If your PC/Laptop is new or less than 5 years it usually just need a GOOD clean.

We have been able to obtain good deals on new hardware recently, BUT you would still have to aim for about £400+ for a new PC or £500+ for a new laptop, in very few cases we can get less expensive equipment but we do not recommend cheaper brands as this would shorten the life of your new hardware.
